What Kavach is, and is not
Kavach is an information-organization tool for adults caring for an aging parent or other loved one. You upload a medical document. Kavach reads it and returns a plain-English summary plus suggested questions to ask the doctor and signs to watch for at home.
Kavach is not a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, therapist, care manager, or insurance advisor. The output is informational only. It is not medical advice. It is not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed clinician who knows your loved one. AI output is probabilistic and may contain errors, misreadings, or omissions. Always confirm anything important with the prescriber, pharmacist, or care team.
Crisis and safety
If your loved one is in a medical emergency — chest pain, signs of stroke, severe bleeding, suspected overdose, suicidal ideation, severe difficulty breathing — contact a real human now:
- United States, life-threat: dial 911
- United States, suicide & crisis: dial or text 988
- United States, poisoning / overdose: 1-800-222-1222
- International: findahelpline.com
Kavach is a planning and literacy tool. It is not built to be a first responder.
No medical, no diagnostic, no prescriptive
Kavach will never tell you to start, stop, change, substitute, or adjust the dose of any medication. It will never confirm or refute a diagnosis. It will never interpret an imaging or pathology study beyond restating what is already written in the document. Drug interaction notes, when present, are pointers to discuss with the prescribing physician — not instructions to act on.
Your authority to upload
By uploading a document, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The document is yours, or you have the legal authority to access it on behalf of the person it concerns (e.g., as their healthcare proxy, agent under power of attorney, parent of a minor with appropriate authority, or with the person's affirmative consent).
- You will not use Kavach to process documents about a person without their knowledge or consent.
- You will not use Kavach to generate medical, legal, or financial advice for a third party.
Acceptable use
You will not:
- Upload documents that are not medical (e.g., legal contracts, financial records, identification) and represent them as such.
- Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer our system prompts.
- Bypass rate limits, quotas, or other technical controls.
- Use Kavach to harass, defame, or harm any person or organization.
- Upload documents that contain content depicting minors in a sexualized manner, or other unlawful content.
HIPAA notice
Kavach in its current early-access version is not a HIPAA-covered service. We do not have a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with our AI provider. We mitigate this with redaction and non-retention (see Privacy), but covered entities and healthcare professionals should not use Kavach to process protected health information about patients in a clinical capacity.
